Will is a senior at Phoebus High School in Hampton, Virginia. He is one of two youth employees in the City of Hampton's Planning Department. As a Youth Planner he is responsible for staffing the Hampton Youth Commission and overseeing the implementation of the youth component of the City's Comprehensive Plan. Will is also active in Uth ACT, a program funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation where young people in Hampton work to increase youth civic engagement within the city. Will is also in his second year on the Superintendent's Advisory Group. This group of 20 students assists the City’s School Superintendent to understand how the issues he is working on will impact students. Will also serves as a member of YCOPE (Youth Community-Oriented Policing Effort), a project that brings young people and police officers together to break down stereotypes that exist between the two groups. Will also is active in his church's youth group.

Will is a trainer for a state-wide initiative, the Relate Project, in which high school students educate other students on the dangers of sexual harassment and the benefits of forming healthy relationships. Upon graduation, Will plans to pursue a career in either law or business

 
           
           

Morgan Saunders

     
Morgan is a senior at Kecoughtan High School in Hampton, Virginia. She is currently in her second year as a Commissioner on the Hampton Youth Commission. As such, she serves on the Teen Center Committee that is working hard to open a 42,000 sq. ft. facility by April 2007. At her school, Morgan is in her third year as a member of the Principal's Advisory and Consulting Team. This team works with the Principal to find solutions to problems within the school. Morgan is also part of the "Uth 2 Uth" mentoring program that helps rising freshman transition into her school. She also participates in Hampton's Youth Advisory Board that promotes youth and adult partnerships throughout the City.

Morgan is a regionally recognized track star and plans to major in Broadcast Journalism upon completion of high school.

 
           
         

Kory McDonald

      Kory is a senior at Hampton High School in Hampton, Virginia. He is currently involved in a wide range of activities, including marching band, Uth ACT, church groups, and several clubs at school. He holds a leadership position in Uth ACT, which is one of eight groups in the country funded by the Kellogg Foundation to encourage youth engagement. He also leads the media/voice workgroup of Uth ACT, which focuses on media outlets for youth in the city.

At church he plays trumpet each week for worship services and participates in the Senior Youth group that sponsors community service projects and fundraising activities. In school, Kory serves as a leader on his Principal's Advisory Council. Kory is very focused on his education and in the future he plans to pursue a career in engineering.
